Meet Lyzza with K9 Loki:
After an impressive Search & Rescue career filled with dedication, grit, and heart, Loki is heading into a well-earned retirement at the end of December 2025. Careers like this don’t happen by accident — they’re built on countless hours of training, trust, teamwork, and an unbreakable bond.
In Lyzza’s words:
“My boy Loki isn’t just a dog, he’s a certified Co-Pilot, Training Buddy, and Search & Rescue Superstar! Since I scooped him up from the rescue in September 2016, it’s been non-stop adventures.
From crushing 5K races and logging 10–15 miles a week of training (he’s basically an endurance athlete with fur), to certifying 3 times in Area Search with our SAR team — he does it all. We’ve traveled to 3 different states for intensive seminars, training under various instructors. He even cleared an area on his very first call-out!
We’ve shared epic road trips, king-sized hotel beds, and even a 5-day cross-country adventure through Yellowstone — just the two of us. He may not cuddle with everyone, but he’s always down for a lap or a life-saving search. His love and trust for me know no bounds. The best partner a person could ask for! ”
Thank you, Loki, for every mile, every search, and every life touched. Retirement is well deserved.
